About The Position

Huntington Bank is seeking a visionary and execution-focused Segment Director in the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) to lead our segment-facing data delivery teams. This role oversees seven agile teams, each led by a manager, supporting critical areas such as consumer and commercial banking, payments, regulatory reporting, risk management, fraud analytics, and customer insights. You will help define the strategic roadmap for the EDW and be accountable for delivering high-impact, compliant, and scalable data solutions. This role requires close collaboration with other EDW leaders as well as business and technology stakeholders to understand and support their evolving needs. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in modern cloud-based data platforms, agile delivery frameworks, and leadership experience in highly regulated environments. This role is in the office at least 4 days per week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or a related field.
  • 10+ years of related experience leading data warehouse teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Proven experience leading large-scale data warehouse teams in a regulated industry, preferably banking or financial services.
  • Strong technical background with hands-on knowledge of Snowflake, AWS, DataStage and/or Python.
  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to build and manage a high-performing team, work with partners to set and meet business service level agreement levels, plan and deliver work to expectations.
  • Experience implementing test automation in a data warehouse environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate with technical and non-technical partners, across all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical ability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 4 data engineering managers and an organization of approximately 50 colleagues and contractors, providing strategic direction, coaching, and technical oversight.
  • Drive agile execution, ensuring consistent velocity, transparency, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Collaborate with business leaders, product managers, and technology partners to prioritize initiatives and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Execute the EDW technology strategy, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and segment priorities.
  • Champion a data-driven culture that emphasizes quality, agility, and innovation.
  • Partner with data governance, risk, and compliance teams to ensure data integrity, lineage, and auditability.
  • Support regulatory reporting and internal audit requirements through robust data practices.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and strategic direction to executive leadership and stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the team, enabling more efficient delivery and modern architecture.
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies and assess their potential impact on the data ecosystem.
