The Texas Health and Human Services Commission seeks highly qualified candidates to fill a Data Visualization Analyst position within the Office of Rural Hospital Finance in the Provider Finance Department. This position will be part of innovative state-funded grant and technical assistance programs targeting rural hospitals. This position joins a team that makes a positive impact on the operations of rural hospitals and their ability to provide health care services to rural Texas communities. The Rural Hospital Data Visualization Analyst will be responsible for performing highly complex (senior-level) data analysis and data research work related to rural hospital financial, operational, and grant funding use. It will report to the Technical Assistance team manager. Works under limited supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. The Data Visualization Analyst will create visual representations of data, such as charts, graphs, dashboards, and other tools to help internal and external stakeholders understand trends and make informed decisions. The position will design, develop, implement, modify, and maintain dashboards; computer applications, spreadsheets, and other analytical tools used in the collection and analysis of grant program data; and data analysis methods and procedures. Work involves ensuring the accuracy of collected data, as well as working with team members to ensure the collected data is the best measure(s) or indicator(s) to determine the extent to which the goals of a project have been achieved and measure the project’s impact. The best fit for this role is someone who can adapt to change, has an eye for detail, has excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex data in a clear, engaging manner through graphic visualizations, and is a self-starter.
