About The Position

The Data & Student Support Specialist is responsible for the data input, analysis, and student supportive services of Adult Education programs including, but not limited to Next Level Learning program, English as a Second Language (ESL) learners, High School Equivalency (HSE), and/or Digital Literacy programs. This position provides resources to the Adult Education Services Programs. The Data & Student Support Specialist supports exam proctoring through our Pearson testing center.   This position reports to the Adult Education Services Manager. This is a(n) ONSITE position.   The Data & Student Support Specialist applies the principles of the organization’s signature service delivery approach, Primary Client Model (PCM™), by promoting a positive employee/client-focused experience that is appreciative of the unique strengths, values and needs that each individual brings; and by using data to inform and drive decision making. Requirements

  • Basic understanding of Congreso’s mission, values, DEI&B vision, Mission2Impact, Primary Client Model, programs, and services.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the community needs and demographics.
  • Ability to understand, acknowledge, and assess client needs to provide a timely, trauma informed approach in service.
  • Ensures the appropriate handling of sensitive information and understanding for issues such as confidentiality, domestic abuse, child abuse, and mandated reporter requirements.
  • Adheres to all Congreso, departmental, programmatic, and security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Attends all Congreso trainings and in-services as required, including relevant professional groups to maintain professional, requisite knowledge and licensure.
  • Attends, participates, and facilitates relevant staff meetings to promote communication and execution of goals.
  • Ability to effectively use standard office equipment, including a variety of common software programs such as Office365, UNIDAD, and other customized databases.
  • Follows through on assignments, works in a timely manner, within established deadlines, and completes special projects specific to the function of the department, as needed or as directed by supervisor.
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse groups, in a compassionate, courteous, and respectful manner that fosters an inclusive environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including effective and respectful communication with individuals and groups.
  • HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR HIGH SCHOOL EQUIVALENT DIPLOMA REQUIRED.
  • MINIMUM OF 1 YEAR OF DATA ENTRY AND EXPERIENCE PROVIDING INDIVIDUALS WITH SUPPORTIVE SERVICES A PLUS.

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) written and verbal skills is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Represents Congreso’s mission, values, and commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging and will be an ambassador of our work.
  • Reviews data in developing reports, evaluations, and for making information-driven decisions and recommendations for improving student support services.
  • Collects documents for outcome verification and supports the data team in maintaining quality assurance in City Span and UNIDAD databases.
  • Participates in all intakes for Next Level Learning and HSE Programs, with varying hours (day and nighttime intakes are held).
  • Supports exam proctoring as a Test Administrator through the Pearson testing center.
  • Is responsible for supporting students in all Adult Education Services Programs with necessary resources, accommodations, continuing education, and student development within Congreso or externally, as needed.
  • Develops and strategizes open houses, events and info sessions for Adult Education Services, and collaborates with program staff to plan and execute nonacademic events, as needed, such as professional presentations from regional experts.
  • Contributes to the creation of print material including marketing packets, flyers and brochures.
  • Provides follow-up to students via phone, letters, email, and scheduled appointments.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with community resources and other relevant stakeholders in the community.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding recruitment, determine eligibility of candidates, and communicate with clients in all Adult Education Service programs.
  • Partners with Adult Education Services Manager to process program documentation and address client inquiries regarding program procedures and services.
  • Completes special projects specific to the function of the department or as needed.
