Regular in-office presence of four days a week is required for day-to-day operations, as well as for team meetings, training opportunities, and relationship building. This role reports to the Director of Research and Marketing Intelligence. Position Summary The Data Steward will be a tech-savvy and detail-oriented person who will work directly with our innovative Marketing team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the integrity, hygiene, and compliance of key client data across a centralized database. You will leverage AI and collaboration platforms to support strategic firm initiatives, working closely with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, deliver actionable reporting, and respond to inquiries from stakeholders across the firm. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with a passion for data-driven innovation, a strong understanding of marketing operations in a professional services environment, and a commitment to continuous process improvement.

Requirements

  • Proficient research, composition, and editing skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in a marketing technology, innovation, or data stewardship role—preferably within a professional services or legal environment.
  • Proven experience in data visualization and storytelling through dashboards and reports
  • Experience with AI tools and platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, automation tools)
  • Ability to integrate third-party data sources via API
  • Experience working with web applications and digital platforms
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency with Power BI, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and updates key client data records, including managing addendums, backup documents, and related agreements
  • Oversees queue management to ensure timely profiling and validation of incoming Outside Counsel Guidelines (OCGs)
  • Performs data de-duplication and version control to maintain database integrity
  • Identifies and contributes new terms and keywords to the term dictionary/library for AI processing
  • Collaborates with developers to log bugs, request enhancements, and approve new user requests
  • Conducts quarterly audits to ensure final negotiated terms are accurately entered
  • Proactively distributes validated terms to relevant teams (e.g., Billing, InfoSec, General Counsel)
  • Responds to ad hoc inquiries regarding client terms and database entries
  • Runs scheduled and ad hoc reports for stakeholders
  • Escalates new report requests to developers, providing requirements for build-outs
  • Identifies and recommends improvements to data collection, validation, and reporting functionalities
  • Supports the adoption of emerging technologies to enhance marketing and data operations
