This internship offers hands-on experience in data governance, stewardship, and analytics, supporting initiatives that span engineering, service, operations, and digital transformation.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Business Analytics, or related field.
  • 2.8 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  • 0-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Must be able and willing to relocate to San Diego, CA.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data governance tools or frameworks.
  • Understanding of data lifecycle management and access controls.
  • Ability to work independently and in team settings.
  • Knowledge of the energy, oil & gas industry, power generation industry, turbomachinery market, and carbon reduction technologies.
  • Takes initiative, has a high energy level, and acts with a sense of urgency.
  • Strong verbal and written presentation abilities to communicate complex strategic topics effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and a good basic financial acumen Intellectual curiosity, global mindset, and passion for continual learning.
  • Highly organized and able to manage a variety of tasks and multiple projects.

Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of the strategic data roadmap under guidance from Data Stewards and Delegates.
  • Assist in profiling, cleansing, and validating master data across domains
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to document data definitions, standards, and lineage.
  • Participate in data quality audits and help resolve issues related to accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
  • Contribute to the development of metadata repositories and stewardship dashboards.
  • Engage in cross-functional meetings and working sessions to understand enterprise data needs.
