About The Position

The primary responsibility of the Data Steward is to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data within our organization. The Data Steward will collaborate with the Data Governance Team in implementing data governance processes, resolving data quality issues, and supporting Master Data Management (MDM) efforts. The ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of data management principles.

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of data management principles, including data quality, data integrity, data governance, and metadata management.
  • Strong attention to detail to identify and resolve data quality issues, inconsistencies, and gaps.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, articulate data governance concepts, and provide guidance to users.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify patterns, and recommend data resolution strategies.
  • Familiarity with data profiling and data cleansing techniques to improve data quality.
  • Understanding of data governance principles, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot data-related issues, investigate root causes, and propose solutions.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively as part of a team, including the Data Governance Analyst and other stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, technologies, and organizational needs.
  • Willingness to stay updated with industry trends, advancements in data management practices, and emerging technologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in data stewardship, data management, or a similar role.
  • Familiarity with data governance processes and tools.
  • Proficient in data analysis and data cleansing techniques.
  • Experience with data quality monitoring, reporting, and metrics.
  • Knowledge of SQL and data querying languages.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, instructions, emails and other related documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries from other employees or guests.
  • Fluency in English required, second language a plus.
  • Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations.
  • 21 years of age or above.
  • A valid Nevada Gaming License is required and must be obtained before entering this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Data Governance Team to implement and maintain data governance processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify data quality issues, resolve inconsistencies, and ensure adherence to data standards and guidelines.
  • Assist in data profiling and data cleansing activities to improve data quality and accuracy.
  • Participate in data matching and data consolidation efforts, reviewing match results, and providing recommendations for data resolution.
  • Support the Data Governance Team in monitoring and reporting data quality metrics and key performance indicators.
  • Act as a point of contact for data-related inquiries and provide guidance to users on data governance best practices.
  • Ensure data documentation and metadata management are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Collaborate with IT team members to ensure proper data integration, security, and privacy measures are in place.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of data quality reports and dashboards.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, advancements in data management practices, and emerging technologies.
