This position manages certain CCBHC-related tasks such as National Outcome Measure follow up and entries. The data specialist supports the department’s process improvement efforts including reviews for completion of key standards. This position reports to the Clinical Process Improvement Coordinator/CCBHC Project Evaluator. The data specialist must be able to effectively communicate technical information in a common, non-technical manner. This individual must work well in a fast paced environment; the ability to efficiently organize and prioritize projects and assignments to meet deadlines is essential to success.

Requirements

  • Strong organization skills with accurate attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to multi- task
  • Able to adapt and work in a fast-paced environment
  • At least one year of experience using an alphanumeric keyboard, performing a number of data entry tasks, and knowledge of computer applications
  • Ability to work through multiple lines of data and worksheets for analysis
  • Ability to identify, troubleshoot and resolve issues identified in the data (errors in data)
  • Associates degree
  • Must be capable to sit or stand in front of a computer for long-periods of time

Responsibilities

  • Works successfully/meets the challenges of a fast-paced environment
  • Prepare, compile, sort and count data to be entered
  • Check source documents for accuracy
  • Updates records by deleting, changing, merging or adding data to files
  • Verify data and correct data where necessary
  • Obtain further information for incomplete documents
  • Enter data from source documents into prescribed computer database, files, forms
  • Check completed work for accuracy
  • Respond to requests for information and access relevant files
  • Comply with data integrity and security policies
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Assists with monitoring individuals who are high utilizers of emergency department services
  • Runs reports, distributes information, and manages follow up regarding key standards
  • Knowledge of computer operations and applications (i.e. spreadsheets, word documents, data collection systems)
  • Skill in reviewing, proofing and verifying data
  • Time management skills. Ability to work fast and to work to deadlines
