About The Position

As a data scientist at Booz Allen, you will be excited by the prospect of unlocking the secrets held by data sets and fascinated by the possibilities of IoT, machine learning (ML), and artificial intelligence (AI). In an increasingly connected world, you will help turn massive amounts of structured and unstructured data into useful information to solve global challenges across private and public sectors, from fraud detection to cancer research and national intelligence. You will use your analytical skills and data science knowledge to create real-world impact, working closely with clients to understand their questions and needs. You will dig into data-rich environments to find pieces of their information puzzle, develop algorithms and systems, and use the right combination of tools and frameworks to transform disparate data points into objective answers, helping clients make informed decisions. Ultimately, you will provide a deep understanding of the data, its meaning, and how it can be used.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience analyzing structured and unstructured data sources
  • Experience with data exploration, data cleaning, data analysis, data visualization, data mining, or AI/ML techniques, including NLP
  • Experience developing predictive data models, quantitative analyses, or visualization of targeted data sources
  • Experience leading the development of solutions to complex programs
  • Experience with natural language processing, text mining, or ML techniques
  • Experience working with Advana, Vault, or Palantir Foundry
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the development of algorithms leveraging R, Python, or SQL and NoSQL
  • Experience with distributed data and computing tools, including MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, Spark, Gurobi, or MySQL
  • Experience with visualization packages, including Plotly, Seaborn, or ggplot2
  • Experience with the Air Force Envision Platform
  • Experience working with Air Force clients
  • Experience effectively managing teams and trusted client relationships
  • Experience developing visually compelling PowerPoint decks and other products to support client delivery
  • TS/SCI clearance
