The People Science team at Roblox supports our Talent Acquisition organization and broader People, Places, & Systems group with applied statistics and data science. Our core mission is leveraging qualitative and quantitative data to drive decisions and optimize processes across the talent lifecycle. This is a hands-on, stakeholder-centric role focused on maximizing the operational efficiency of Recruiting. You will join a high-impact group dedicated to translating complex data into clear, actionable tools and insights. Success means empowering our leadership to scale hiring efforts through data solutions that are not only accurate but also actionable and adopted. Role is based in our San Mateo, CA HQ and reports to Manager, People Data Science

  • Deliver self-service analytical products and reporting dashboards to recruiters and business leaders to enable data-driven operational decisions.
  • Leverage and contribute to the core data models owned by People Analytics, ensuring the underlying data logic is understood, accurately represented, and efficiently utilized in all downstream products.
  • Partner with stakeholders to define key recruiting metrics and develop KPI dashboards that drive operational excellence across time-to-hire, sourcing effectiveness, and recruiter performance.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Talent Acquisition leadership by translating complex cross-functional data into clear, compelling narratives and actionable strategic recommendations.
  • Conduct in-depth analytical deep dives and scientific inquiry focused on optimizing operational processes, such as resource planning, funnel efficiency, and forecasting hiring needs.
  • Drive the adoption of new visualization and analytics tools (e.g., Hex) by training and enabling recruiters and leaders to effectively leverage the data products you build.
  • Support data governance and improve data processes in partnership with People Analytics and Recruiting Operations to ensure the reliability and quality of our core recruiting datasets.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in a Data Analyst, People Analytics, or Business Intelligence role, with a strong focus on data visualization and reporting.
  • A Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related discipline, OR equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Expert-level proficiency in SQL for querying, wrangling, and optimizing large datasets, including Common Table Expressions (CTEs) and window functions.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis and scripting using Python or R (expertise in at least one is required) for data wrangling, modeling, and reporting.
  • Proven ability to design high-impact, user-friendly data visualizations using Business Intelligence software such as Tableau, Looker, or similar.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of simplifying complex data for senior, decision-making audiences.
  • Committed to clarity. You provide clarity through all your work products: your code, your documentation, your project plans, your visualizations, your presentations, and your strategic recommendations.
  • Systematic and efficient. You don’t like to solve the same problem twice, and you are always on the lookout for reusable solutions. You create well-documented systems and procedures rather than approaching each new problem in isolation.
  • Curious and skeptical. With a new dataset or business question, you are driven to explore relationships and constantly ask yourself why a particular result is occurring.
  • Impact-focused. You are keenly aware that the true value of data lies in its adoption, and you prioritize stakeholder enablement and tool usability to ensure your work drives measurable business outcomes.
  • Prior experience in Talent Acquisition or People Analytics is highly preferred.
