About The Position

Data Scientist Summer Internship - 2026 Miami, FL As a Boats Group Data Scientist Intern , you’ll report to our Head of Data and work closely with our Principal Data Scientist and Data & AI team to support the development of internal machine learning and advanced analytics models that inform product, marketplace, and business decisions. Over the summer, you'll work on projects, tackle daily tasks, and work collaboratively with our team. In general, your responsibilities will include: Partner directly with a Principal Data Scientist on internal ML and analytics initiatives Explore and prepare large datasets for modeling (data cleaning, joins, feature creation) Build and evaluate internal-facing models, such as: Propensity or scoring models (e.g., conversion likelihood, lead quality) Classification and regression models for forecasting or prioritization Segmentation or clustering models to identify behavioral patterns Analyze model outputs to generate actionable insights for product, sales, and operations teams Create clear summaries, visualizations, and documentation explaining: Model approach and assumptions Key drivers and insights Limitations and next steps Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to ensure models align with available data and pipelines We know you're just starting your career. But here are a few things that you should have to succeed in this internship: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field Strong foundation in statistics, probability, and data analysis Hands-on experience with Python (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn) Working knowledge of SQL and relational data modeling Ability to clearly explain analytical findings and tradeoffs Curiosity, attention to detail, and comfort working with ambiguity Exposure to cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery) Experience with visualization tools or Python plotting libraries Essential Details: Internship Duration : Our internship program will be 10 weeks, with a start date of Tuesday, June 2nd, and ending Thursday, August 6th. Hybrid Work Schedule : Work remotely on Mondays and join us in the office Tuesdays - Thursdays with no work on Fridays – enjoy your 3-day weekend! Requirements
