Data Scientist II - AI We are seeking a Data Scientist II - AI to join our NIOS Platform team, based in Tacoma, WA or Burnaby, BC. In this key role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting core platform features that power our industry-leading NIOS platform. You’ll collaborate closely with Distinguished Engineers, Architects, QA, Product Security, and Customer Escalation teams to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable solutions. As a critical contributor to the evolution of Infoblox’s next-generation DDI services, you will help shape software architecture, enhance product security, and drive platform scalability and performance.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience (post-M.S./Ph.D.) in an applied AI or machine learning engineering role
  • Minimum1 years of hands-on AI/ML experience (NLP, LLMs, applied ML)
  • Has shipped production AI features, not just research or demos
  • Understands both ML engineering (training, fine-tuning, eval) and MLOps (deployment, monitoring)
  • Loves working in scrappy, 0→1 startup environments
  • Is product-minded: cares about impact on customers, not just model benchmarks
  • AI: OpenAI, Llama, Claude, LangChain, RAG frameworks
  • Vector DB: Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS, ChromaDB
  • Middleware: MCP

Responsibilities

  • Design, fine-tune and deploy AI/LLM-powered agents for real-world DDI deployment and development
  • Build retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, embeddings, and multi-agent orchestration
  • Evaluate and fine-tune models for accuracy, reliability, and performance
  • Prototype fast, validate with real users, and iterate on productized AI features
  • Influence core AI/ML architecture and research directions as a founding member
