About The Position

AI Data Scientist, Acute Care Informatics (Cambridge, MA) Drive real-world impact in healthcare by building and deploying advanced machine learning and generative artificial intelligence solutions that power Philips’ Connected Care portfolio and improve patient outcomes across global clinical environments. Your role: Design, develop, deploy, and continuously improve machine learning and generative artificial intelligence algorithms that support clinical care, patient management, and customer analytics across Philips Connected Care solutions. Partner closely with clinicians, epidemiologists, product managers, and software engineers to translate clinical needs into scalable, production-ready analytics and decision support capabilities. Build high-quality, compliant software by contributing hands-on code aligned with quality management system processes and regulatory requirements. Contribute to scientific evidence generation, including abstracts, patents, and manuscripts, and support interactions with regulatory bodies as needed. Share knowledge and best practices with product development and professional services teams through training and collaboration across international markets.

Requirements

  • You’ve acquired 3+ years of hands-on, industry experience applying machine learning techniques (e.g., classification, regression, clustering, reinforcement learning, dimensionality reduction) as an individual contributor in production environments.
  • Your skills include strong proficiency in Python machine learning frameworks, experience with at least one major programming language (e.g., C#), familiarity with version control systems, and experience building big data pipelines and cloud-based solutions.
  • You have a PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Informatics, Physics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • You’re a collaborative, patient-first problem solver with strong communication skills in English and comfort working with regulated healthcare data environments.
  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
  • US work authorization is a precondition of employment.
  • For this position, you must reside in or within commuting distance to Cambridge, MA.

Nice To Haves

  • experience with Amazon Web Services machine learning environments such as SageMaker, and working in Agile/Scrum teams.
  • experience with healthcare data standards such as Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources and Health Level Seven.
