  • Expected graduation around April/May 2026 or December 2026
  • Strong foundations in machine learning concepts: classification, regression, clustering, time-series forecasting, evaluation metrics, etc.
  • Experience with Python and common ML/data libraries (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn)
  • Familiarity with SQL and experience working with real datasets
  • Understanding of data engineering fundamentals—pipelines, transformation workflows, modeling, and metadata/semantic layers
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts clearly
  • Curiosity, initiative, and a desire to help shape new AI/ML capabilities from the ground up

Nice To Haves

  • Interest or experience in cloud data tooling (AWS preferred), plus curiosity about or exposure to Snowflake or Databricks

Responsibilities

  • Explore and analyze datasets from multiple Ascent Cloud products to extract insights and identify ML-ready features
  • Assist in designing scalable data structures, including data lake organization, semantic layers, and transformation pipelines
  • Prototype machine learning models for forecasting, clustering, classification, recommendation engines, and related use cases
  • Evaluate model performance and iterate on feature engineering and data quality improvements
  • Contribute to early data platform efforts using AWS (S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift, SageMaker) as well as Snowflake and Databricks
  • Help define how data should be organized, enriched, and governed to support analytics and AI applications
  • Work closely with Product and Engineering leadership to define Ascent Cloud’s long-term data analytics and AI strategic framework
  • Communicate findings and technical insights to a variety of audiences

Benefits

  • Work on impactful, forward-looking AI and analytics initiatives that will shape the next generation of our products
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, Snowflake, Databricks, and modern data engineering concepts
  • Mentorship from experienced engineers and product leaders
