About The Position
We are seeking a driven and analytically strong Summer Intern to support our Data Science and Analytics team. This role will center on a high-impact project designed to enhance our predictive pricing models. The primary focus will be developing a historical weather feature using local weather data to improve demand forecasting and enable more dynamic, weather-informed pricing strategies. Depending on the intern’s skill level and progress, additional opportunities may include analyzing paid spend performance within the Google Ads environment and contributing to the development of a “Google Trends” machine learning feature to further strengthen our predictive modeling capabilities. This is a hands-on opportunity to work on real-world machine learning initiatives that directly influence revenue and pricing decisions.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a degree program.
- Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to solve complex problems.
- Experience (academic or professional) with Python and SQL.
- Familiarity with machine learning workflows, including data preparation, feature engineering, and model evaluation.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Smart, hardworking, curious, and proactive, with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to work independently while seeking guidance when appropriate.
Responsibilities
- Develop and engineer historical weather data features to enhance predictive demand models.
- Integrate external data sources into existing machine learning workflows.
- Support model testing, validation, and performance analysis.
- Analyze data within the Google Ads environment to identify trends and optimization opportunities.
- Contribute to the development of additional machine learning features, including potential Google Trends integrations.
- Create clear data visualizations and reporting outputs to communicate findings to stakeholders.
