We are looking for a highly motivated Data Science + AI Intern to support BillionToOne’s efforts in scaling and automating critical data processes using AI. This internship is ideal for someone with a background in Data Science/Data Engineering/AI and an interest in applying AI-driven solutions to optimize sales operations, laboratory operations, customer support, and billing systems.Be part of a high-performing team on the cutting edge of prenatal and oncology diagnostics, working in a dynamic startup culture within a public company that is committed to changing the lives of hundreds of thousands of patients.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field . College graduates are not eligible.
Strong understanding of data engineering concepts , including ETL pipelines, database management, and cloud computing (e.g. Stitch, dbt).
Experience with SQL, Python, and big data technologies
Experience validating non-deterministic AI automation solutions

Nice To Haves

Experience with Cursor, Claude Code, or other AI enabled IDEs is plus.
Familiarity with machine learning and AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn) is a plus.
Experience with data visualization (Tableau) is a plus.
Experience working with AWS cloud platform and data pipeline tools is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills, analytical mindset, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Work with stakeholder teams to develop and implement AI-driven automation solutions for scaling sales operations, lab operations, customer support, and billing processes.
Assist in building and maintaining scalable data pipelines to support analytics and machine learning initiatives.
Optimize data workflows by integrating AI models to improve efficiency and decision-making.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and business teams, to understand requirements and propose data-driven solutions.
Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with industry best practices.
Document technical processes and provide insights based on analysis and implementation.

For this position, the base pay rate is: $4,333 per month.
