About The Position

As an AI Engineering / Data Science Intern, you will contribute to our growing AI and machine learning initiatives. You’ll make a meaningful impact by harnessing data while working alongside our incredible data science and AI applications teams. You’ll be paired with a skilled mentor who will help you develop your skills and make the most of your internship experience. If you get a kick out of solving problems and working with data to derive insights that will help lift people at work, you will love BambooHR.
You will have the opportunity to collaborate in different areas depending on current projects and your interests. This might include:
Collaborating with business stakeholders to understand needs and opportunities
Creating exploratory data analysis and visualizations
Building machine learning models to improve customer experience or key processes
Using NLP and LLMs to interpret textual data and work with conversational interfaces
Writing scripts and code to deploy and tune AI applications
This will be a paid, full-time internship (M-F, 8-5), running from May to August 2026, based in Draper, Utah with a mix of in-office and virtual work. In some cases, full-time employment may be available at the end of the internship.

Requirements

• Currently a Junior or Senior pursuing a Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Mathematics or related degree
• Data querying and transformation with SQL and Python
• Coding software that works with data
• Data exploration and visualization
• Familiarity with the workings of LLMs and prompt engineering
• Machine learning algorithms, neural networks, and predictive modeling
• Exposure to cloud-based computing environments such as AWS and GCP
