Requirements

  • Previous Management Experience is required
  • Minimum of five years experience in sales and support of Datacom related Products
  • Outside Sales experience
  • Leadership Ability: Demonstrates strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Communication: Exhibits excellent oral and written communication skills, essential for effective team leadership.
  • Relationship Building: Develops and maintains good working relationships with key vendors and collaborates with territory managers to drive team performance.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Works closely with the VP of Sales & Marketing Construction to set annual sales goals and with the Purchasing Department to ensure profitable inventory management.
  • Performance Monitoring: Uses departmental DEP and data analytics to monitor and improve team performance, ensuring accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical and abstract reasoning skills, plus excellent organization skills.
  • Ability to make decisions and manage under pressure.
  • the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) weight up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to use a keyboard and type proficiently
  • Valid drivers license is required.
  • Background check is required.
  • U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the SYD DataComm Sales Strategy to achieve sales goals across SYD Territories.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Sales & Marketing Construction to set annual sales targets.
  • Monitor team performance using the Disciplined Execution Process (DEP) and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Oversee inventory management in partnership with Purchasing to ensure profitability and product accuracy.
  • Conduct regular analysis of sales reports, including bids, orders, CRM activity, and team performance.
  • Enhance and maintain the DataComm Dashboard to track sales performance by product and region.
  • Utilize CRM and BI tools to assess specialist, vendor, and territory performance.
  • Drive business planning and execution for growth, focusing on CRM opportunities and sales funnel management.
  • Develop strategies for APC/Powerware products and expand Data Center market penetration.
  • Support territory managers in account development and collaborate with Marketing to grow the DataComm segment.
  • Monitor gross profit and maintain strong vendor relationships.
  • Engage with Territory Managers and maintain visibility at top SYD DataComm accounts.
  • Participate in pricing strategy and co-travel with Outside Sales for major opportunities.
  • Accountability for Team Outputs: The Data Sales Manager is responsible for the outputs and working behaviors of all subordinates, ensuring that the team consistently meets company goals.
  • Building and Sustaining Effective Teams: The manager must build and sustain a team capable of producing results that align with organizational objectives.
  • Regular Communication: Conducts regular meetings with immediate subordinates to discuss business goals, plans, and challenges. These meetings ensure that employees understand how their roles and tasks fit into the organizations mission and vision (Disciplined Execution Process, DEP) and actively seeks input and suggestions from team members.
  • Active Participation: The manager participates in broader meetings such as the SYD Management Team Meeting, Sales Management Team Meeting, and Outside Sales Team Meetings, fostering cross-functional collaboration.
  • Managerial Planning: Develops and executes managerial plans to achieve departmental goals, using the DEP framework.
  • Coaching and Performance Management: Coaches team members to improve performance and takes action to remove underperforming team members for the overall benefit of the team.
