About The Position

The Data Reporting Analyst intern supports the operations department by collecting, analyzing, and reporting data using network monitoring tools and specialized software. This role focuses on transforming raw data into meaningful insights and actionable reports to support decision-making and performance optimization.

Basic knowledge and experience working with router and switch configurations.
Basic knowledge of the interworking’s of SNMP.
Basic knowledge of OAM and collecting of Y.1731 statistics.

Responsibilities

Maintains network device and services inventory in network monitoring applications. Software applications include Ciena Blue Planet Unified Assurance and Analytics (BPUAA).
Creates monthly reports based on OAM statistics and service level agreements; estimates monthly financial credit obligations based on Y.1731 reports and service level agreements.
Monitors designated applications and takes corrective actions to minimize downtime.
Troubleshoots to resolve system and application-related issues; coordinates with DCN Operations staff and third-party vendors for problem resolution.
Provides ongoing support to DCN staff, customers, and owners; answers questions and resolves issues related to external applications.
Sets up administrative and standard user accounts within applications and verifies security levels.
Creates reports based on statistical information gathered by various applications.
Gathers information from external sources that may require using API’s or querying databases.
Creates and maintains custom dashboards for customers, owners, and internal users.
Leads and participates in efforts focused on developing and implementing processes for application and system monitoring.
Creates and maintains alerting mechanisms for faults or alarms detected in network.
Utilize and reviews internal ticketing system to track events affecting services.
