About the Role: CrowdStrike is seeking a Data Protection Manager to lead our enterprise data protection strategy and team. This leadership position will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive data protection programs, building and managing a high-performing team, and establishing governance frameworks that align with business objectives and compliance requirements.

Requirements

• Leadership Experience: 5+ years of privacy or information security experience
• 2+ years of specialized experience in data protection
• Team management experience
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of data protection technologies and tools
• Experience with data classification tools and methodologies
• Knowledge of eDiscovery platforms and processes
• Familiarity with cloud security and data protection controls
• Business Acumen: Experience developing and managing program budgets
• Ability to translate technical requirements into business value
• Track record of successful cross-functional program implementation
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field
• Experience with regulatory compliance (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)

Nice To Haves

• Relevant certifications (CIPM, CIPP, CISSP, etc.) or equivalent experience preferred
• Experience developing data governance frameworks
• Knowledge of data lifecycle management
• Understanding of privacy by design principles
• Ability to influence senior leadership and drive organizational change
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities

Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Build and lead a data protection team, including hiring, mentoring, and developing team members
• Develop and maintain the enterprise data classification framework and labeling strategy
• Establish data governance policies and procedures
• Create and oversee the data stewardship program
• Program Management: Design and implement data protection controls across all data stores
• Establish data ownership model and accountability framework
• Lead the development of data handling standards and procedures
• Oversee data protection impact assessments
• Manage relationships with key stakeholders including Legal, IT, and Product Business Units
• Technical Oversight: Guide the implementation of DLP solutions and data protection tools
• Oversee eDiscovery programs and processes
• Guide the development of data inventory and mapping initiatives
• Ensure proper data retention and disposal practices
• Risk Management: Develop risk assessment methodologies for data protection
• Create and maintain data protection metrics and reporting
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards
