About The Position

This role is dedicated to safeguarding sensitive information across the organization by monitoring, analyzing, and implementing robust data protection practices. You will evaluate risks, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and provide actionable insights to enhance overall data security. The position involves collaboration with multiple teams to align operational procedures with approved policies, while leveraging data protection tools to detect, report, and mitigate potential threats. You will generate audit-ready compliance reports, support incident response, and contribute to the continuous improvement of enterprise-wide security practices. This position offers the flexibility of 100% remote work while providing exposure to diverse systems, frameworks, and workflows. The role combines technical proficiency, analytical insight, and proactive problem-solving to strengthen the organization’s data governance posture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with data discovery, data protection frameworks, and activity monitoring tools.
  • Familiarity with Varonis, Microsoft Purview, or similar data protection platforms.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory compliance requirements and their practical application.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years in data discovery and protection for structured and unstructured data.
  • Experience generating compliance reports, performing risk assessments, and supporting incident response.
  • Ability to understand interdependencies across data, processes, and technologies to provide holistic insights.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze file-level and storage-level data protection policies and alerts across enterprise systems.
  • Assist in the implementation of data protection frameworks and ensure operational alignment with approved policies.
  • Generate audit-ready compliance reports, supporting risk assessment and mitigation efforts.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to apply data protection best practices and maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Apply proactive learning to identify emerging threats and continuously improve data security processes.
  • Support both cloud-based and on-premises environments, adapting policies and practices as needed.
