About The Position

The Data Product Manager Strategic leader responsible for the development and lifecycle management of data products for their respective business area, ensuring they align with business objectives and deliver value. Collaborates with cross-functional team to define product vision, strategy, and roadmap, integrating feedback from stakeholders and end-users. Oversees the lifecycle of data products, from concept to delivery, and ensure they provide value to the organization. The Data Product Manager is responsible for the following results:

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field; or five or more years of relevant experience in data product management or analytics; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in data product management, analytics, or related roles, with a proven track record of delivering successful data products.
  • Experience developing and managing product roadmaps, prioritizing features, and coordinating cross-functional teams including engineering, BI, and architecture.
  • Strong understanding of data contracts, data governance standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to monitor product performance, gather user feedback, and iterate on product features for continuous improvement.
  • Experience driving adoption and utilization of data products, including conducting training and awareness sessions.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes governance within the data office by designing an effective governance operating model and identifying the roles and responsibilities of those engaged in D&A governance processes
  • Develops excellent working relationships with business, data and technical stakeholders and their teams to achieve governance goals
  • Understands regulatory requirements, relevant data protection laws and regulations, such as GDPR, EU AI Act and CCPA, and industry-specific standards. Ensures the organization's data practices are compliant, in collaboration with legal and compliance.
  • Identifies the business processes and success metrics of key stakeholders and scopes the work of D&A governance to align with their goals
  • Leads the strategic development and implementation of the D&A governance framework across the organization; sets clear objectives and milestones as well as defines roles and responsibilities to ensure that the highest standards in data stewardship are met
  • Enforces D&A governance policies and standards, ensuring compliance with applicable data privacy regulations, security requirements and ethical data usage practices
  • Establishes data management policies and processes (including data quality, privacy, security, life cycle and AI) within the organization, ensuring comprehensive oversight and mechanisms for continuous monitoring and improvement
  • Promotes D&A governance initiatives, providing leadership in the adoption of tools and best practices to elevate understanding of data literacy and governance across the organization
