About The Position

Under the direction of the Director of Manufacturing Analytics, the Intern, will work closely with our operations and data science teams to analyze and optimize our manufacturing operations. The intern will leverage their skills in data science and operations engineering to identify improvement opportunities and provide insights which drive improved operational efficiency. This position is on-site located in Milpitas, CA.

Requirements

Actively Pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree in Data Science, Operations Engineering, generic engineering disciplines or related field or and/or equivalent relevant experience
Hands-on experience with scientific or operational data analysis
Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and multivariate analysis techniques
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

Passion for data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement
Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and multivariate analysis techniques
Knowledge and experience with data visualization tools such as Spotfire, PowerBI, or Tableau
Familiarity with magnetic head and/or semiconductor manufacturing processes is a plus.
Able to work productively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and management
Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office applications to create spreadsheets, Word documents, and presentations
Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with employees and management

Responsibilities

Collaborates with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data from various sources within the fab operations
Uses Python, MS SQL, and Spotfire dashboards to clean, process, and analyze large datasets
Applies machine learning techniques and multivariate analysis to identify patterns and trends in operational data
Develops and implements data-driven solutions to optimize and improve manufacturing efficiency
Present findings and makes recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
Develops dashboards and reports to monitor key performance (KPI’s) indicators
Partners with other team members or groups to share knowledge and learnings
Prepares end of internship report and presentation
Adheres to all safety policies and procedures as required
Performs other duties of a similar nature or level
