About The Position

At GAF, we’ll make sure you get going on your very first day with a comprehensive orientation into our company. In our program, you will have the opportunity to own your own projects, participate in meetings, and work cross-functionally with other departments. GAF is looking for a Data - Intern. The ideal candidate for this role is majoring in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Engineering. This intern will assist with the development of new subject areas into GAF's Google big query data platform using tools such as Google Cloud Platform and Tableau for visualization and user enablement. The intern will have a great deal of opportunity to learn, contribute, and develop leadership skills.

Requirements

  • Pursue of Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution, with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0, preferably with a sophomore standing.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the field of data organization, validation, and visualization
  • Fluency in expressing analytics needs, capabilities, and outcomes
  • Experience working with BI and data visualization platforms
  • Strong skills in SQL or Python for data analysis
  • Ability to communicate complex information with clarity and precision

Responsibilities

  • Develop a solution for a business need with hands-on experience using Google Cloud Platform/Tableau Cloud.
  • Conduct analysis on functionality and features that are of interest to the team , deliver impactful assignments that drive business results.
  • Work with experienced analysts and engineers to analyze large datasets, build models and dashboards, automate workflows and translate data into actionable insights used by business teams, leadership and customers.
  • Present at a monthly Data Analytics meeting to a cross-function group of analysts.
  • Learn support processes and participate in support rotation to address user requests and incidents
  • Establish how new metrics will be defined and measured, and partner with business teams to operationalize reporting
  • Deliver analytics and insights that are clear and digestible to non-technical stakeholders.
  • You will participate in an Advanced analytics use case involving predictive and prescriptive AI/ML capabilities.
  • You will assist with AI agent development, training and enablement —gaining real-world experience at the intersection of operations, data, and AI-driven productivity tools.
  • You will also participate in code reviews to enhance code quality and deployment of the cloud infrastructure required for Data Engineering, Machine Learning Engineering, and Machine Learning Operations
