About The Position

TECKpert’s client, a government agency in Miami-Dade County, FL, is seeking a Data Integration Engineer to support a large-scale enterprise application implementation. This role focuses on data analysis, data cleanup, ETL development, system integrations, and ongoing migration support throughout the project lifecycle. The selected consultant will work with technical teams, business analysts, and a software vendor to ensure accurate data movement, reliable integrations, and well-documented migration outcomes. This is a hybrid role and requires availability for onsite meetings as needed. Candidates must be located in South Florida.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Seven (7+) years of experience delivering complex IT software projects, with strong ownership of integration and migration deliverables
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle PL/SQL or SQL Server development
  • Hands-on experience using ETL tools and data integration platforms
  • Experience building and consuming REST and SOAP APIs
  • Strong working knowledge of JSON and XML
  • Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and database architecture
  • Experience using version control systems such as Git
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and in collaborative, cross-functional environments
  • Strong attention to detail with a quality assurance mindset

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
  • Must reside in South Florida

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data migration approaches and repeatable migration processes
  • Develop, optimize, and support ETL workflows for extracting, transforming, and loading data between systems
  • Perform data profiling, data cleanup, and validation to ensure integrity and accuracy
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and validate data mappings
  • Build and maintain integration components using APIs and integration patterns
  • Troubleshoot migration and integration issues, including performance tuning and error handling
  • Document technical specifications, mapping documents, migration runbooks, and post-migration validations
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams and the software vendor to support implementation milestones
  • Monitor integration health and contribute to system uptime and operational stability
  • Maintain clear documentation of tools, processes, and technologies used
