About The Position

The Data Governance & Metadata Scientist will design, implement, and maintain enterprise‑level data governance frameworks to ensure metadata consistency, lineage visibility, and interoperability across Data Lake environments, ESRI Kubernetes platforms, and external data sources. This role requires deep expertise in metadata management, geospatial data standards, and DoD‑compliant governance practices. The ideal candidate brings strong technical proficiency, analytical rigor, and hands‑on experience supporting metadata workflows in cloud‑based and geospatial ecosystems

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Management, GIS, or a related field; or a minimum of five (5) years of equivalent experience in data governance, metadata management, or geospatial data integration.
  • Demonstrated experience in:

  • Tracking data lineage and synchronizing metadata across catalogs and repositories
  • Using OpenLineage, Apache Atlas, Unity Catalog, or similar tools
  • Applying geospatial data standards and cataloging practices
  • Ensuring compliance with DoD metadata policies and NSG tradecraft standards
  • Proficiency in metadata management, schema alignment, and governance best practices.
  • Strong understanding of geospatial data structures, ESRI ecosystems, and Kubernetes‑based geospatial deployments.
