Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in data governance practices
  • Proven ability to design and lead enterprise or federated data governance programs, balancing central standards with domain ownership.
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM) and the ability to adapt them pragmatically to business needs.
  • Experience establishing and operating data councils, stewardship models, and domain ownership structures.
  • Deep experience defining and operationalizing data quality dimensions (accuracy, completeness, timeliness, consistency, validity).
  • Ability to design and implement data quality rules, thresholds, monitoring, and remediation workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with metadata management, including business metadata, technical metadata, lineage, and impact analysis.
  • Experience embedding governance controls directly into data pipelines and platforms (e.g., automated classification, validation, lineage capture).
  • Strong collaboration with data engineering teams to integrate governance into CI/CD workflows and production deployments.
  • Familiarity with modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks) and how governance is enforced programmatically within them.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with domain leaders to prioritize and improve the most business-critical datasets for accuracy, completeness, and freshness.
  • Implement automated validation, profiling, and anomaly detection within data pipelines.
  • Drive metadata completeness and lineage visibility across enterprise data assets (including geospatial, sensor, and business data).
  • Embed automated data classification, tagging, and role-based access integration into data flows.
  • Operationalize ownership and stewardship accountability within each domain through clear, measurable KPIs.
  • Monitor and publish “data trust” metrics and progress dashboards for executive visibility.
  • Collaborate with analytics and AI teams to ensure governed, trusted data fuels downstream insights and model training.
