About The Position

As a Data Governance Lead, partner closely with clients to orchestrate and execute their enterprise data governance program management portfolio. This role drives the program roadmap, aligns cross-functional teams, manages risks, issues, and controls, coordinates strategic initiative/board reporting deliverables, delivers executive-ready communications, tracks financials, and supports regulatory/audit ad-hoc requests. In addition, this role will design and operationalize enterprise processes for post-deliverable quality control (QC) sampling across data governance deliverables—establishing sampling criteria, measurement frameworks, control checkpoints, and feedback loops to ensure consistency, compliance, and continuous improvement. As Data Governance Lead, you'll be a central integrator—ensuring clarity of priorities, disciplined execution, and measurable outcomes across data governance, data risk, and delivery.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of program management in data governance programs.
  • Experience working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Proven success partnering with technology delivery leadership to drive outcomes across business and tech teams.
  • Financial services or regulated industry experience.
  • Strong risk/control mindset and experience with regulatory/audit coordination.
  • Expert-level communication and synthesis skills; executive-ready storytelling and dashboarding.
  • Proficiency with PMO and collaboration tools (e.g., Smartsheet/MS Project/Jira, Confluence, PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI/Tableau, Teams).

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with board/risk reporting and regulatory expectations.
  • Experience designing operating models and KPI frameworks for governance programs.
  • Experience working in the consulting industry.

Responsibilities

  • Program Strategy and Delivery Enablement
  • Support development and maintenance as co-owner for the enterprise data governance roadmap, aligning milestones, dependencies, and outcomes across waves and across internal teams
  • Run the operating rhythm: planning cycles, status cadences, governance forums; ensure decisions and actions are captured and executed.
  • Monitor and report on portfolio health and delivery risk.
  • Ensure adherence to the operating model through facilitating established agile ceremonies (e.g., standup, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint review/retrospectives) to drive disciplined execution.
  • Governance, Risk, and Controls Oversight
  • Manage integrated RAID and control inventories; ensure owners, timelines, and effective mitigation.
  • Standardize enterprise data governance processes, risks, and controls in Archer
  • Monitor adherence; drive audit/regulatory readiness and continuous improvement.
  • Strategic Initiative and Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Facilitate alignment with Risk, Compliance, Technology, Data Management, and Business teams; remove blockers and resolve dependencies.
  • Executive Communications and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Produce executive-ready materials (leadership updates, steering/board/risk committee decks, and portfolio dashboards)
  • Regulatory, Audit, and Evidence Management
  • Coordinate regulatory and audit interactions by managing requests, collating evidence, tracking commitments, and observing closure tracking
  • Ensure documentation, traceability, and control enhancements are audit-ready
  • Data Risk and Quality Execution Support
  • Develop and operationalize enterprise processes for data defect/issue coordination and policy adherence monitoring; oversee execution to ensure timely remediation and closure.
  • Design and run post-wave QC testing and sampling protocols – including criteria, dashboards, and feedback loops – and aggregate results to drive corrective action ands and continuous improvement.
