About The Position

Bowhead seeks a Data Governance Lead to support the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO) program located in Arlington, VA. This contract provides enterprise-level program management, governance, process architecture, and enterprise and solution architecture advisory services in support of the CDAO WDP program. The Data Governance Lead ensures the War Data Platform’s data architecture meets compliance, security, and discoverability requirements while supporting analytics and AI capabilities. This position focuses on developing frameworks for data-sharing, lifecycle management, and quality standards that align with DoD objectives and Zero Trust principles.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in enterprise-level data governance and architecture.
• Expertise in policy development, data-sharing agreements, and working with structured and unstructured data.
• Must be able to maintain a security clearance at the Top Secret level with SCI eligibility.
• US Citizenship is a requirement for this contract.
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds on occasion.
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged period amounts of time.
• Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s Degree.
• Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP).
• Cloud-focused certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Big Data or Azure Data Fundamentals).
• CISSP for data security.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the WDP Data Architecture Framework, ensuring data is structured, accessible, and compliant with federal cybersecurity policies.
• Work alongside integration teams and data owners to support secure and auditable data-sharing across multiple environment classifications (unclassified to JWICS).
• Provide advisory services to Government stakeholders on data-sharing agreements and integrations.
• Conduct data inventory and gap assessments, and propose optimization solutions.
