About The Position

MFour collects and manages a wide range of consumer data — including survey, app, web, location, purchase, and behavioral signals. To ensure this data is trusted, compliant, and usable for analytics, AI, and client-facing products, we are creating a Data Governance Analyst / Manager role. This role will define, implement, and enforce data governance standards across the organization, ensuring that internal practices, third-party partnerships, and global compliance requirements are consistently met.

Requirements

  • Experience in data governance, compliance, or data stewardship in a consumer data or technology environment.
  • Strong understanding of compliance standards and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, LGPD, and industry best practices.
  • Familiarity with data classification, access control, retention policies, and audit processes.
  • Experience managing third-party data providers or vendor compliance.
  • Ability to communicate governance requirements clearly across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of establishing structure in a fast-growing organization.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain company-wide data governance standards covering data access, retention, security, privacy, and usage.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including GDPR, CCPA, LGPD, and other domestic or international privacy laws.
  • Define data stewardship and ownership responsibilities for internal teams and third-party partners.
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to governance policies, flagging and remediating issues proactively.
  • Serve as the central authority on data compliance standards, advising product, engineering, operations, and analytics teams.
  • Support the organization in embedding governance into all data processes, ensuring consistency, transparency, and accountability.
  • Develop and maintain data governance frameworks, policies, and playbooks for all consumer data assets.
  • Define and implement standards for data quality, access, security, and usage.
  • Partner with third-party data providers to ensure their practices align with MFour standards.
  • Maintain awareness of domestic and international data privacy regulations and translate them into actionable internal policies.
  • Conduct audits and monitoring to ensure compliance with governance standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to train staff and promote best practices in data governance.
  • Provide reporting and documentation on governance compliance to executive leadership.
