About The Position

As an nVent Data Governance Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity, consistency, and usability of enterprise-wide data. You'll collaborate across business and technical teams to implement data governance policies, assist in resolving data quality issues, and support development of trusted data products. This role will translate governance strategy into actionable deliverables and ensure measurable outcomes enabling data-driven decision making across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data analytics, data science, information technology, statistics or related field required.
  • 5+ years' experience as a Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, Business Analyst, Data Analyst or Product Owner
  • 3+ years' experience in successfully driving change management related to digital transformation
  • 5+ years' experience writing, debugging, and optimizing complex SQL queries
  • Experience in navigating cross-functional teams to gather and document business requirements for data products
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex data to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to combine data from different sources

Responsibilities

  • Analyze datasets to assess dimensions (accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness) based on provided validation rules and thresholds
  • Ensure precision in profiling and identifying anomalies
  • Define and maintain transformation logic between source and target systems
  • Translate business needs into technical mapping logic across platforms
  • Collaborate with the data steward to resolve data anomalies, duplicates, and data integrity issues
  • Diagnose root causes and propose scalable remediation aligned to data governance strategy
  • Coordinate with data stewards and owners to define validation rules and thresholds
  • Design and create data health scorecards for critical data domains and data governance KPIs to be actioned
  • Align quality metrics with business objectives and data standards
  • Partner with data stewards and owners to maintain metadata, data dictionaries, and lineage documentation
  • Ensure metadata is accessible and up to date in cataloging platforms
  • Maintain documentation for AI/ML model lineage, bias detection, and explainability protocols
  • Collaborate with various digital teams to ensure data governance is embedded into ML pipelines
  • Advocate for ethical AI practices and privacy-preserving techniques
  • Promote data quality and governance best practices across segments and functions
  • Support and lead change management activities and data literacy initiatives
  • Act as a liaison between business and digital; support data stewards and owners
  • Build trust and drive shared accountability
  • Enforce data governance policies, standards, and compliance requirements
  • Advocate responsible data use and regulatory alignment
  • Contribute to the data governance roadmap and align with data governance strategy
  • Articulate governance value to diverse audiences
