About The Position

American Specialty Health Incorporated is seeking a Data Governance Analyst I to join our Information Management department. This position will be responsible for working with the business owners, IT managers, and developers to gather business requirements and technical specification related to the use of Data Governance across the organization. The role contributes to the company data governance program and related initiatives, policies, processes, and reporting. The Analyst will assist in documenting data-related requirements as well as recommending and implementing data governance and management tools, processes, and solutions to enable data governance at ASH. Salary Range American Specialty Health complies with state and federal wage and hour laws and compensation depends upon candidate’s qualifications, education, skill set, years of experience, and internal equity. $72,000 to $85,000 Full-Time Annual Salary Range. Remote Worker Considerations: Candidates who are selected for this position will be trained remotely and must be able to work from home (WFH) in a designated work area with company-provided technology equipment. This remote/WFH position requires you have a stable connection to your Internet Service Provider with the ability to participate by video in online meetings over a reliable and consistent network (minimum internet download of 50 Mbps and 10 Mbps upload speed. 100 down/20 up is recommended to support higher quality video meetings).

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Business, or equivalent experience. If equivalent experience, high school diploma required.
Minimum 2 years’ experience gathering/documenting business requirements and translating to technical specifications.
At least three years of IT knowledge focused on healthcare operations with an emphasis on data governance and metadata management.
Working experience with data governance tools.
Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
Proficient in MS Office.
Ability to create business and system process diagrams.
Ability to facilitate and manage meetings.
Demonstrated ability to interact in a positive, respectful manner and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
Ability to display excellent customer service to meet the needs and expectations of both internal and external customers.
Excellent listening and interpersonal communication skills to identify critical core competencies based on success factors and organizational environment.
Ability to effectively organize, prioritize, multi-task and manage time.
Demonstrated accuracy and productivity in a changing environment with constant interruptions.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a managed health plan helpful but not required.
Experience with writing queries in MS SQL a plus.

Responsibilities

Partners with stakeholders to ensure consistent, accurate use of the Data Governance processes and tools.
Develops and prepares system specifications for assigned applications, parallel to overall business strategies for implementation by Information Technology.
Participates in Governance Council meetings and may be a representative for Data Governance in other key meetings.
Partners with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain data governance practices.
Supports the measurement and monitoring of data governance KPIs.
Partner with stakeholders on root cause analysis and issue resolution
Administer, maintain, and recommend opportunities to grow data governance toolkit.
Create and maintain common data sets within the data governance tooling (e.g., corporate terms and abbreviations.)
Ensure data governance processes and practices comply with regulations.
Work on large- and small-scale adoption and maintenance projects as needed and manage projects simultaneously for various size customers.
Develop implementation and process documentation.
Recognizes unique or problem situations within areas of assigned responsibility. Research and present solutions to leadership.
Oversees and assists with staff training, testing, and debugging of changes within the data governance tooling.
Documents bugs, errors, and solutions within the data governance system and tooling.
Coordinates testing with business owners and developers.
Maintains working knowledge in areas of assigned responsibility for use in the development of system enhancements and reporting requirements.
Maintains confidentiality of all sensitive business information at all times.
