About The Position

The Data Governance Analyst works day-to-day on a client project supporting client deliverables, with supervision from other team members. The Analyst is responsible for solving business problems within customer engagements by understanding data governance requirements, configuring tools, and implementing governance strategies. They interact with clients to gather requirements, address complex data challenges, and develop solutions that ensure data quality, integrity, and transparency. The ideal candidate can understand detailed technological, business, and analytical concepts—including data governance principles, data management, and tool integrations—and communicate those concepts to clients in an accessible and actionable way.

Requirements

  • BA or BS required, advanced degree highly desired, with the preferred majors of: Economics, Statistics, Management, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Biology, or relevant topics.
  • 1-2 years of work experience in Management Consulting, Engineering, AI, Data Science, Security, Cloud, Business, Scientific Research, or relevant topics.
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills; ability to communicate with all levels of management and cross-functional teams to address data governance needs.
  • Skilled at multitasking requirements including gathering data governance use cases, testing tool configuration, troubleshooting issues, and supporting tasks across multiple user groups in a fast paced and deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to generate creative solutions to complex or ambiguous data challenges.
  • Thoughtful problem-solving skills and ability to work well in groups, particularly in addressing data governance or quality issues.
  • Ability to ask the right questions to understand the business problem, identify governance related measurements or objectives, and implement effective solutions.
  • Proficiency and working experience with Microsoft PowerPoint & Excel, as well as hands-on experience with data governance tools like Collibra.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

Responsibilities

  • Develops analytical and technological solutions to achieve defined business objectives, with a focus on data governance strategies and best practices.
  • Consults with business users and stakeholders to ensure solutions align with data governance principles, meet business needs, and are practical to implement.
  • Helps maintain project plans, schedules, and workflows, particularly those related to data governance tools and processes.
  • Creates project documentation, including technical documents such as process flows, user manuals, and metadata guidelines.
  • Creates clear, compelling charts, tables, and other visuals to represent data governance metrics, quality standards, and workflows
  • Presents results, recommendations, and governance insights to clients and partners, ensuring data governance objectives are effectively communicated
  • Creates educational and sales materials to empower WWT account teams and support the adoption of data governance tools and processes
