About The Position

Data Governance Analyst 2 – Data Governance - La Crosse, WI: Kwik Trip’s Data Governance Office has a unique opportunity for an experienced full-time Data Governance Analyst. This position will be responsible for the ongoing development of data governance policies and processes that shape the future of Kwik Trip’s Data Governance program. You will work with various business and technical teams to foster development and adoption of new processes, guidelines, standards, and promote data compliance and literacy within the organization. You will also conduct audits and perform operational tasks to support governance policy. Additionally, you will help to support the implementation of a data catalog with respect to data classification and data policy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Management, Information Systems, or related field
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Data Governance, Compliance, or Data Management
  • Demonstrated experience of project leadership skills
  • Strong independent judgment with the ability to assess issues and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Ability to understand complex, high‑level objectives and translate them into clear, actionable deliverables
  • Collaborate well with others to build and leverage diverse relationships to work towards a common goal
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to facilitate discussions with a variety of teams
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of CCPA, GDPR, MCDPA, BIPA and other data privacy laws preferred
  • CDMP Certification preferred, or willingness to obtain certification

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and enhance existing governance policy, protocols, and processes to strengthen governance posture. Develop new policy as needed to support new and existing initiatives for compliance with data regulations.
  • Collaborate with security, technical, and business teams to foster ongoing alignment with implemented policies.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for data governance policy, standards, and protocols for business and technical teams.
  • Perform periodic audits, complete privacy-related tasks, and ensure ongoing compliance to implemented governance protocols.
  • Develop data retention policy and process to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Review data sharing, software, AI, and integration requests to ensure data governance compliance and best practices are utilized.
  • Assist in development and delivery of data governance literacy efforts throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to assist implementation of the Data Intelligence Platform/Data Catalog in the enterprise.
  • Manage and maintain backlog prioritization and issue tracking with technical analysts.
  • Provide exceptional service to our internal business teams and guests.
