About The Position

The Data Exchange and Automation Lead plays a critical role in supporting the integration and automation of data exchanges between NHSG systems and external clients, partners, and healthcare vendors. This position coordinates technical onboarding activities for new clients and partners while supporting the day-to-day management and reliability of automated data integrations across the organization. Working closely with implementation teams, business operations, and external partners, this role helps ensure that file exchanges, EDI transactions, and automated processes operate reliably and efficiently. The Data Exchange and Automation Lead will also assist in identifying opportunities to streamline data exchange processes and enhance automation capabilities across NHSG platforms. This role serves as a key liaison between technical teams and operational stakeholders, helping translate business requirements into reliable data integration workflows and supporting the ongoing stability of automated systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data integration, EDI operations, automation, or system interface management.
  • Experience working with file-based integrations, EDI transactions, or automated data exchange processes.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and integration projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with SFTP file transfers, batch processing, or job scheduling systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare administration, insurance, or pharmacy benefit management environments.
  • Familiarity with EDI formats such as 834, 835, and 837 transactions.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the technical onboarding of new clients and partners requiring data integrations.
  • Coordinate integration setup activities including file specifications, connectivity requirements, and testing schedules.
  • Facilitate meetings with client technical teams and internal stakeholders to define integration requirements and timelines.
  • Maintain documentation of integration specifications and operational procedures.
  • Monitor and support daily file exchanges and automated data flows between NHSG systems and external partners.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to file transmissions, EDI transactions, and automated batch processes.
  • Coordinate with internal technical teams to resolve integration issues and ensure reliable system operations.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of automated data exchange processes.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual processes through automation and improved workflow design.
  • Collaborate with engineering and data teams to improve the reliability and scalability of integration workflows.
  • Work closely with internal teams including Implementation, Claims Operations, Client Services, Finance, and PBM operations to support integration needs.
  • Provide status updates and communication regarding integration progress, timelines, and issue resolution.
  • Help ensure alignment between business requirements and technical implementation.
  • Maintain documentation of system interfaces, file formats, and data exchange procedures.
  • Ensure integration processes comply with internal security policies and healthcare data standards.
  • Support audit and compliance requirements related to healthcare data transmission.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency related to data integrations and automated workflows.
  • Contribute to the development of best practices for managing client and vendor integrations.
  • Support the ongoing evolution of the File & Automation team’s capabilities.
