About The Position

Reporting to the Pharmacy Services Director, the Data Entry Pharmacy Technician Lead plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless processing of prescriptions and maintaining efficient communication with prescribers, healthcare professionals, and internal departments. The Data Entry Pharmacy Technician Lead is responsible for directing the department to perform daily functions such as entering orders, communications and workflow monitoring. This role encompasses the company’s goal of accurate prescription data along with superior customer service in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. and 1-3 years of data entry and adjudication experience; or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency.
  • Pharmacy and medication distribution software (EMAR, Pyxis Medbank, Frameworks preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as medication documentation, business correspondence and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and business correspondence; ability to speak effectively, both in person and by telephone, to customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs; ability to understand and interpret statistical reports, data charts and graphs.

Nice To Haves

  • Assisted living pharmacy experience preferred
  • PTCB certification preferred.
  • Supervisor/lead experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as coordinator of all data entry functions.
  • Participate in developing new workflow processes based on changing business needs.
  • Manages pharmacy technicians doing data entry.
  • Ensure cut-offs are adhered to and front-end production is completed promptly to help ensure timely run departures.
  • Monitors workflow and production quotas utilizing reports in order to affect desired outcomes of meeting cut off deadlines.
  • Implement and monitor compliance with policies and procedures to ensure uniform and accurate entry of all information necessary to complete a prescription order.
  • Verify all schedules are appropriate and monitored to cover hours needed to maintain adequate workflow to meet the needs of the business.
  • Oversee staffing needs/levels based on production quotas and changes in customer base.
  • Be actively involved in all aspects of training technicians, as well as keeping up to date training materials.
  • Identify patterns, problems and errors, coach and hold technicians accountable.
  • Coordinate with teams when new procedures and polices need to be implemented.
  • Manage department to operate effectively with other teams
