About The Position

WaterAid Canada operates as an all-remote work environment, with team members distributed across various regions and time zones in Canada. Senior leadership is based in Gatineau, Montreal, and Toronto, while philanthropy team members are in the Ottawa-Gatineau region. The organization is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Data Entry Clerk to join its Fundraising and Philanthropy team for the summer. This entry-level position is suitable for individuals who are organized, proficient with computers, and keen to develop administrative and data management skills.

Requirements

  • between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment
  • A Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, S.C. 2001, c. 27
  • legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good typing and keyboarding skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

  • Previous office, clerical, or data entry experience is an asset but not required

Responsibilities

  • Enter, update, and verify data in databases, spreadsheets, and internal systems
  • Review data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary information
  • Organize and file digital and paper records as needed
  • Perform basic data clean-up and corrections
  • Generate simple reports or summaries when requested
  • Follow established data entry procedures and quality standards
  • Assist with general administrative tasks as assigned
