Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel etc.
Comfortable working with biohazardous materials and using appropriate PPE at all times
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently
Ability to sit for extended periods of time

Responsibilities

Accession laboratory specimens by entering relevant information into system.
Generate and apply barcode labels to requisitions and specimen containers
Prepare specimens for testing
Identify and resolve missing or unclear requisition information
Communicate with extended care facilities and internal leadership to resolve accessioning issues
Accession and label COVID-19 specimens
Update and maintain accurate patient, test, and billing records in laboratory systems
Document and support ALERT result reporting in accordance with compliance standards
