Our Data Engineers focus on building and implementing advanced data systems to deliver high quality data to drive business solutions. Utilizing engineering best practices to ingest and process data quickly and efficiently, our engineers look to build advanced systems that bring data together from disparate sources for businesses to use. The role involves gaining practical, client-facing experience from the start, supported by a client-simulated boot camp. This immersive 3-week program will kickstart your journey as an Associate Consultant in our one-year Discovery Program, designed to support your transition from college to CapTech. CapTech offers continuous learning opportunities, including workshops, cross-training, and social events that foster networking and skill development across different areas of our business. You will also engage in a coaching culture, mentored by Subject Matter Experts, with a commitment to professional growth through various consulting projects.

Requirements

  • Graduating in December 2025 - Spring/Summer 2026 with a bachelor’s or +1/accelerated masters degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or similar discipline
  • Prior work, internship or classroom experience in business concepts and processes with the chance to work with specific tools
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate AI concepts to non-technical colleagues
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting ability
  • Familiarity with data ingestion and transformation fundamentals
  • Understanding of data analysis and data quality principles
  • Experience developing data solutions using relational database management systems such as: SQL Server, MySQL, Redshift, Amazon RDS, etc.
  • Fundamental proficiency in: Python, SQL or another scripting language to extract and manipulate data
  • Familiar with version control systems such as GIT
  • Familiarity with fundamental AI/ML concepts
  • Understanding of data preparation for use with AI models
  • Applicants must be authorized to work directly for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship

Nice To Haves

  • Prior work/internships in a related technical field
  • Working with one or more data transformation tools/products: Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Google Data Fusion
  • Fundamental understanding of one or more cloud providers and storage solutions such as: AWS (S3), Google Cloud Platform and Storage, Azure (Blob Storage)
  • Familiarity with entity relationship diagrams (ERD)

Responsibilities

  • Build data systems that bring together data from disparate sources, making it available to data scientists, analysts, and other users
  • Ingest, clean, and transform structured and unstructured datasets to solve data problems and deliver data solutions
  • Design, develop, and implement data processing pipelines at scale
