Responsibilities What you'll be able to do: Data Engineer - positions offered by Ford Motor Credit Company LLC (Dearborn, Michigan). Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the anticipated worksite. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance from the anticipated worksite. Design, develop and optimize scalable, reliable data solutions to deliver reusable patterns using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services: Big Query, Dataflow, Dataform, Astronomer, Data Fusion, DataProc, Cloud Composer/Air Flow, Cloud SQL, Compute Engine, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Artifact Registry, GCP APIs, Cloud build and App Engine, and real-time data streaming platforms like Apache Kafka, GCP Pub/Sub and Qlik Replicate. Collaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements and ensure alignment with business goals. Perform comprehensive current & future state analysis, data mapping, impact analysis, root cause analysis, and data lineage activities to maintain data integrity and traceability. Implement and promote an enterprise data governance model emphasizing data protection, sharing, reuse, quality, and standards. Create and maintain clear documentation for processes and systems. Continuously enhance Ford Credit domain expertise, stay current on data engineering best practices, and contribute to the company's technical direction. Maintain a customer-centric approach. Design and develop data products on a cloud analytics platform. Ingest, transform, and analyze large datasets to support enterprise in the Data Factory on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Operationalization of data lakes, data warehouses, and analytics platforms on Google Cloud Platform or other cloud environments. Develop exceptional analytical data products using both streaming and batch ingestion patterns on Google Cloud Platform with solid data warehouse principles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • 4 years of experience with each of the following skills is required:
  • Setting up the CI/CD pipelines using Tekton.
  • Utilizing source code version control systems, including GIT, to provide a common development platform.
  • Managing data pipelines to move data from various sources to a data warehouse or analytics platform, ensuring smooth data flow.
  • Constructing and maintaining data warehouses to store and organize large datasets for analysis.
  • Developing ETL processes using SQL, Python, Spark and Scala to extract raw data, transform it into a usable format, and load it into the target system.
  • Implementing data security measures to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access.
  • Performing data quality checks and cleansing processes to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
  • Monitor data pipelines and systems for performance issues, identify bottlenecks, and optimize data processing efficiency.
  • Utilizing the following scripting languages and tools: Shell, Git, Jira, and Object oriented programming.
  • 1 year of experience with the following skill is required:
  • Building data pipelines in GCP using GCS, BigQuery, Dataform, Airflow, and Dataflow.
