About The Position

We are seeking a SME-level Data Engineer to support the ingestion of mission-critical and mission-support data sets into a big data environment. This role is pivotal in supporting cyber and network-related missions within military spaces. As a senior member of the team, you will focus on software infrastructure for big-data-scaled ingestion - including understanding new data sources, implementing testing, and establishing monitoring. Additionally, you will lead the department in achieving strategic goals, ensuring data integrity, and fostering a collaborative, innovative work environment.

Requirements

At least 14 years of experience in Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or Database Engineering. (+4 additional years of relevant experience can substitute for a BS degree).
Fluency in data extraction, custom translation development, and loading (ETL).
Significant experience with Java (including unit/integration testing), Python, and SQL.
Expertise in Apache NiFi (administration and troubleshooting) and data flow solutions like Kafka and AWS S3/SQS.
Proficiency with Linux OS (BASH), Maven, GitLab, and YAML for schema configuration.
Must be certified DoD IAT II or higher (Sec+, etc)
Familiarity with cyber/network security operations and various log formats (JSON, XML).
Ability to lead a department, decompose complex technical problems, and work effectively in Agile environments.
An active TS/SCI is required for consideration.
