About The Position

Become a part of our caring community The Data Engineer 2 Designs, builds, and maintains data processing architectures and solutions enabling the efficient conversion of structured and unstructured data to insights at enterprise scale. The Data Engineer 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action. The Data Engineer 2 ingests data from internal and external sources utilizing cloud native platforms and software development best practices and patterns. Develops software tools that leverage artificial intelligence, machine learning, and big-data techniques to cleanse, organize, and transform data into insights and actions that enables Humana to better serve our members. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures. Use your skills to make an impact This is a Hybrid Office position. Candidates must be local to Louisville, KY area who are able to come into the office 1-2 times per week. This is subject to change.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years experience technical experience relevant to this role
  • Bachelors degree or higher
  • High proficiency in SQL
  • Experience working in the Azure cloud environment [Databricks/Azure Synapse Analytics]
  • Experience with large and complex extraction, transformation, and loading of data
  • Experience with performance tuning and data modeling
  • Experience designing data structures to support reporting and analytics

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of Edifecs and MEDCLM tables
  • Familiarity with Oracle and SQL Server platforms
  • Experience using Python/PySpark
  • Experience in health care, insurance, or risk-adjustment
