Pacific Life is actively seeking a Data Engineer II to join our Customer Data team in Newport Beach, CA. As a Data Engineer II, you will contribute to the design, development, and support of Pacific Life’s customer data platform, primarily within an existing Snowflake environment hosted on AWS. This role supports ongoing customer data initiatives and operates as part of a collaborative data engineering team within the Corporate division. The Data Engineer II applies established data engineering practices while building knowledge of Pacific Life systems, data, and business processes. How you’ll help move us forward: Design, build, test, and support ETL/ELT data pipelines that ingest and transform customer data into an existing Snowflake platform on AWS. Develop and maintain data transformations and models using tools such as dbt and Matillion, following established development standards and patterns. Participate in Agile delivery processes, contributing to sprint planning, development, testing, and deployment activities using Azure DevOps and CI/CD practices. Collaborate with senior data engineers, architects, and business partners to understand data requirements, analyze solutions, and deliver reliable customer data assets. Utilize approved AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, code quality, and efficiency while adhering to Pacific Life data governance, security, and quality standards. The experience you bring: 2+ years of experience in data engineering, data integration, or a related technical role; Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or equivalent practical experience.
