Data Conversion Specialist (SR-5269058-DCS)
About The Position
The scope of the proposed services for the Data Conversion Specialist will include analyzing and mapping data from old to new systems, developing and implementing data conversion plans, and designing and executing data validation and testing processes. The specialist will ensure data quality and integrity throughout the conversion, collaborate with LDWF stakeholders and OTS technical teams to define requirements, and provide technical knowledge transfer, training, and documentation. Participation in Scrum ceremonies and cooperation with LDWF’s Technical Architect and other OTS technical teams to ensure compliance with OTS standards are also key aspects of the role. Additionally, the specialist will perform other directed tasks, special projects, analysis, studies, and plans.
Requirements
- Advanced SQL experience writing complex queries, joins, and stored procedures to identify anomalies and transform data types. (2 years)
- ETL experience using enterprise tools (Informatica, SSIS) or scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) to move data from Point A to Point B. (2 years)
- Working on data migration or data integration projects with specific experience in Data Profiling, Schema Mapping, Data Normalization, and Error Handling. (4 years)

- Experience with creating documentation such as data mapping documents and data dictionaries. (2 years)
- Working on a development team. (2 years)
- Experience with client engagements on design, delivery, deployment and on-going maintenance. (2 years)
- Working in an Agile/Scrum environment. (2 years)
Responsibilities
- Analyze and map data from the old system to the new one.
- Develop and implement data conversion plans.
- Design and execute data validation and testing processes.
- Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the data conversion process.
- Collaborate with LDWF stakeholders and OTS technical teams to define and prioritize data conversion requirements.
- Provide technical knowledge transfer, training, and documentation to OTS and LDWF Agency staff for all requested work.
- Participate by providing feedback and detailed design and implementation approaches in all necessary team meetings and design sessions in accordance with Scrum ceremonies.
- Cooperation with LDWF’s Technical Architect and other OTS technical teams to ensure compliance with OTS standards of State applications.
- Perform all other tasks, special projects, analysis, studies, and plans as directed.
