About The Position

Perform Data Center Technician duties per documented processes and procedures. This includes a working knowledge of customer hardware with ability to interact, troubleshoot issues and work independently.

Requirements

Excellent communication and organizational skills are required.
Strong experience in troubleshooting/fault isolation.
Ability to multitask with a high attention to detail.
Due to the 24x7 operations of the business, must be able to work a flexible work schedule, may include nights and weekends.
Intermediate understanding of networking and internet protocols including, but not limited to, Ethernet Switches, IP Addressing (CIDR/Netmasks), and DNS.
Minimum of 2 years experience, preferably in a Data Center or tech support role.
Must be able and willing to learn new tasks/skills as required.
Must be able to communicate and understand verbal, written and electronic instructions in English.
Moderate to difficult computer skills, experience using Excel and Word is required.
Ability to use email, communicate effectively both verbally and written.
Ability to follow detailed processes/instructions is required.
Knowledge of Computer Hardware, Software and Related Services.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to be on feet for extended periods of time.
Due to the nature of the position, must be able to lift 50 lbs. over head.
Must be able to move rolling carts as needed.
Must be able to operate for extended hours in a loud, temperature controlled data center.
Must be able to use a pallet jack.
While performing the duties of this class, employees are regularly required to sit; talk or hear, in person and by multi-media; use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; and reach with hands and arms. Employees are frequently required to walk, stand and move about to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another. Must have ability to ascend and descend stairs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to perform job duties energetically and with enthusiasm.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot all aspects of server hardware and related storage products.
Repair, upgrade and downgrade servers.
Monitor and maintain all in-rack devices (e.g. servers, network devices, storage, PDU, UPS, etc.).
Coordinate hardware warranty replacement with vendors.
Escalate tickets as needed and collaborate with teammates to resolve issues.
Maintain data center component inventory.
Provide assistance to all operations personnel to ensure that the highest level of customer satisfaction is maintained.
Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative, team environment.

Escalate to the assigned client representative and Getronics Manager any documentation, process or procedure discrepancies and follow-up until resolved.

Employee may be requested to assist with individual and shift schedules in accordance with budget guidelines and may be required to work under remote supervision.
