About The Position

Independently responsibility for one or more data centers, leading performance analyses across key operational areas and proactively monitoring facility health to implement significant enhancements. Drives process improvements by partnering across functions and regions, leads on-the-ground teams in incident resolution, manages escalated technical issues, and utilizes advanced automation and monitoring tools to mitigate risks. Maintains an up-to-date knowledge base, executes incident management protocols, and conducts root cause analysis to improve operations. Oversees new region builds and expansions, serves as the main liaison for expansion projects, and provides oversight for installations, repairs, inventory, and logistics—directing component upgrades and infrastructure changes to optimize data center efficiency and stability.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years working in an IT environment.
  • Knowledge of server/storage/network hardware systems and components.
  • Knowledge of critical data center infrastructure power and cooling.
  • Excellent time management skills.

  • Experience assisting on-call technicians and ability to respond to critical events as needed.
  • IT Hardware Concepts knowledge (RAID, Linux/Unix, CLI, etc.)
  • Network connectivity concept knowledge (Layer1 connectivity within the DC)
  • 2-year or 4-year degree or relevant work experience
  • 4+ years of enterprise data center experience
  • Linux administration knowledge or other command line interface knowledge/experience
  • 2 year+ experience in Structured Cabling Copper/Fiber and testing of cables.
  • 2 year+ experience in Cooling and Electrical systems concepts inside the data center.
  • Experience in repairing and working on enterprise server hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of critical spaces – capacity management, monitoring power and cooling requirements, and response to critical events and/or incidents.
  • Work with external groups as needed to support and resolve issues impacting DC operations.
  • Partnering with colocation suppliers and vendors to delivery 100% uptime and availability.
  • Complete small projects independently and work with your manager on planning and completing larger local projects.
  • Manage security and access controls for your site.
  • Procurement and Inventory: Receive, track, and ship data center equipment as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with partner and cross-functional teams within your data center.
  • Provide technical guidance to vendors and foster vendor relationships.
  • Oversight of hardware installation (provisioning) and decommission of workflows.
  • Rack and stack of data center equipment, including but not limited to servers, networking devices, monitoring systems and other equipment.
  • Handle daily work through internal tooling systems such as JIRA ticketing and Confluence.
  • Documentation of activities and strict alignment to SOPs regarding compliance and standardization.
  • Participate and complete training that aligns with corporate objectives to bridge skill gaps and learn new relevant technologies.
  • Works independently, evaluating incoming work and taking appropriate actions to resolve any open issues while understanding when to advance appropriately.

  • Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
