CGS is looking for a Data Center Operations Manager to perform data center operations servicing the needs of a government client based out of Columbia, SC. The successful candidate will oversee the daily operations and maintenance of the data center facilities, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of server equipment. Requirements

  • Strong technical skills to include:
  • Data center infrastructure and network technologies
  • HVAC, UPS, and power distribution systems
  • Network and server hardware
  • Data center management tools and software
  • Capacity / performance planning and lifecycle management
  • Maintain architecture diagrams, rack elevations, and network maps
  • Leadership and organizational skills to include:
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Familiarity with industry and compliance standards and federal security requirements (e.g., FISMA/NIST, DOJ/USAO policies)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data center operations
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced certifications (e.g., Data Center Certified Associate, Certified Data Center Professional) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure 24/7 operation and security of data centers
  • Oversee installation, maintenance, and upgrades of data center infrastructure
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions
  • Develop, implement, and enforce data center policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and internal departments to support business objectives
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and backup plans
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of data center operations
