The Infrastructure Operations organization is looking for Data Center Technicians to take AWS Data Center Operations to the next level. The position will help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations. This position involves hardware and network diagnostics followed by physical repair and includes participation in an on-call rotation. All candidates should be willing to work both independently and with a team. Work prioritization, organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly are critical to being successful. In addition to hardware and network repair candidates will install equipment, create documentation, innovate solutions, participate in site-level project work, and fix complex problems within the Data Center Space. This team works in an environment that operates 24/7 and on a rotating shift schedule AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. Requirements

1+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience
1+ years of computer networking experience
High school or equivalent diploma, or Bachelor's degree

Nice To Haves

Experience working in a colocation data center facility

Responsibilities

Performing server rack installations, hardware break-fix on various components, troubleshooting network issues, responding to operational incidents that impact service availability, and carrying out routine network, server hardware, and operating system repairs to contribute to the overall availability of AWS services.
Serving as a primary contact point for both internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors.
Participating in scheduled maintenance and change management activities that may require overnight support.
Contributing to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on your analysis of operational issues.
Helping to interview, train and onboard new team members.
Take ownership of technical issues reported by their customers, engaging other teams when necessary to drive resolutions.
Demonstrate strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, escalating issues to senior technicians and management as required.
Maintain service level agreements by proactively detecting and reporting issues.
Show initiative and proactivity, even in the absence of direction or support.
Enhance effectiveness through process innovation.
