About The Position

The Facilities Manager is responsible for the safe, reliable, and continuous operation of a mission-critical Enterprise Data Center (EDC) environment where zero downtime is the standard. This role leads facility operators and third-party service providers to ensure all mechanical, electrical, and cooling systems—including chillers, data center cooling equipment (CRAH/CRAC), split systems, and supporting infrastructure—are maintained and operated at peak performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in facility management and/or energy engineering
  • Working knowledge of large-scale HVAC systems, chilled water systems, and data center cooling systems.
  • Strong problem solving, communication and collaborative team building skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software: Excel, Word, Power Point.
  • Experience with Maximo or other CMMS systems
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are essential requirements for this position.
  • Experience supporting incident response in high-risk environments.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills

  • Data Center Manager certification such as Certified Data Centre Management Professional (CDCMP®), EPI's Certified Data Center Facilities Operations Manager (CDFOM®), and the Data Center Operations Manager (DCOM®)

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations of a 24/7 mission-critical data center environment with strict zero-downtime expectation.
  • Direct operators and contractors during incident response to ensure rapid stabilization and recovery.
  • Ensure redundancy systems are always operational and capable of supporting load during failures.
  • Oversee operation and maintenance of central plant systems (centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, pumps, CRAH/CRAC units, split AC systems)
  • Utilize Building Management Systems (BMS/Tridium or equivalent).
  • Interpret system data, alarms, and trends to ensure performance and early issue detection.
  • Lead a team of facility operators responsible for monitoring and operational tasks.
  • Manage and coordinate third-party vendors and skilled trades contractors.
  • Ensure vendors perform work safely and effectively.
  • Bridge communication gaps with internal and external operators, contractors, and leadership.
  • Identify and implement energy conservation opportunities, and help facilitate the implementation of projects, initiatives, and programs that reduce energy consumption and demand.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders through performance and transparency.
  • Be available to respond to emergencies 24/7 via phone.
  • Assist with identifying and troubleshooting and evaluating energy efficiency measures, calculate the savings potential of measures, and prepare assessment reports.
  • Develop detailed status reports and participate in Client presentations of findings.
  • Technical Operations and Maintenance assistance, including service contract management support
