This position supports a large‑scale data center build requiring a significant number of skilled technicians. The roles emphasize fiber installation, porting, testing, and troubleshooting within data center environments. Project Overview Scope of Work: Fiber pulling, routing, porting, testing, and troubleshooting within data centers Use of OTDR and Fluke testers (no fiber splicing required) Rack assembly, labeling, scanning, documentation, and QC/QA Location: Northern Virginia area including Ashburn, Sterling, Chantilly, and Manassas Project Scale: Initial deployment of 4 teams (1 lead + 4 technicians per team) Potential to scale significantly across multiple large data center projects Entry‑Level Technicians Key Responsibilities Pull and route fiber throughout the data center Assemble, stack, and drill equipment racks Scan, label, and port equipment Support general installation tasks under the direction of senior technicians Lead Technicians Key Responsibilities Pull and route fiber and perform fiber testing and troubleshooting using OTDR/Fluke Plan work activities, delegate tasks, and oversee technician performance Complete documentation, QC/QA reports, cut sheets, and site photos Serve as a customer‑facing point of contact for reporting and coordination Ideal Candidate Profile Self‑starting, safety‑focused, and mechanically inclined Proactive team players who can think critically and solve problems Interested in long‑term growth and leadership opportunities Honest, reliable, and motivated to grow with the organization Work Environment Data center setting Schedule: Monday–Saturday, occasional Sunday Hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM Must be open to night/second shift and working 6–7 days per week Parking Free off‑site parking with daily shuttle service to and from job sites Required PPE (On‑Site) Composite‑toe safety boots (6” over ankle) – candidate‑provided Type 2, Class E hardhat with chinstrap High‑visibility yellow vest Safety glasses Level 4 cut‑resistant gloves Required Training (Prior to Site Access) Safety Training Course – approx. 4 hours Scissor Lift Certification (online) – approx. 1 hour OSHA 10 Certification (online) – approx. 10 hours Contract Details Contract length: 4–6 months Opportunity for extension or direct hire based on performance Growth and leadership development opportunities available Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Chantilly, VA.
