Job Summary The Data Center Cable Technician is responsible for installing and troubleshooting structured cabling (fiber), focusing on rack/stack, cable management and labeling. All while ensuring timelines are met and adhering to strict safety/security protocols to support critical data center operations.

Requirements

Must have 3 to 5 years of experience in the installation of cabling associated with: Telecom Systems, TCP/IP Networks, CCTV Security, Access control & Wireless Solutions.
Must have the ability to install, terminate & test low voltage cables & fiber optical cables.
Strong understanding of low voltage infrastructure and related services.
Valid Drivers License
Finger & wrist dexterity & hand/eye coordination.
Ability to see in color.
Proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel, Word, Visio, and Power Point
Comprehensive understanding of contract scope and requirements for pro-active management of projects and integration into processes
Must be able to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Ability to understand basic wiring diagrams and installation instructions.
Run, terminate, label, and manage fiber optic cables; troubleshoot low-voltage connectivity issues.
Possess working knowledge of ANSI/TIA/EIA cabling standards & the National Electric Code.
Attend project planning & progress meetings.
Report any project scope changes, issues, or concerns to the assigned contacts.
Use proper care on all company assets to avoid breakage, misuse, theft, etc.
Ability to complete the tasks assigned in a timely manner.
Adhere to data center security protocols, safety procedures, and industry best practices (e.g., cable management standards).
Other duties as assigned by Manager.
